An Assassin in Orlandes
An Assassin in Orlandes is a meld between an RPG and a choose-your-own-adventure book. It's therefore strong on storyline, with a much more in-depth and unique plot compared to the average RPG. It does feature dice-roll based combat, and you can even shake the iPhone to roll the dice. You can also use bookmarks to make "saves" before tricky situations. There's an interactive world map which can be zoomed and scrolled, and updates as the story develops. And there are achievements to collect throughout the game for those who want to explore all the story. More gamebooks are planned in future, as well as in other genres such as sci-fi and steampunk.
